Pearl drum

Even though many people now seek to buy a Pearl drum, this has been the case for only the last few decades. These drums have been around for around 60 years.

The first Pearl drum was manufactured in Tokyo in 1946 by Katsumi Yanagisawa.
Katsumi originally started out manufacturing music stands, but soon moved to drums. Not long after he started to make drums, he also began to manufacture drum kits, marching drums, Latin percussion instruments and other accessories.
This company grew for the next decade and then saw a larger growth in the mid-1960s when a long-range plan was developed that would skyrocket the company to the forefront of the percussion industry. This plan called for the company to develop new products, install the latest manufacturing machinery and establish another factory.

After the company did all of this, a pearl drum became the drum that people wanted to have when playing drums.
These drums are now sold worldwide. In the U.S., there is now a Pearl Drum warehouse in Nashville, Tenn.
The company has been able to stay on top for a number of years thanks to the fact that they have been able to make innovations to drums that other companies have not thought of. By staying on the forefront, Pearl Drum has forced people to turn to them to find out much of the latest news about drum manufacturing.
